I'm not a fan of Justin Bieber, but many young impressionable kids are, so I applaud the news that Justin will be recording a PSA on the subject of cyberbullying. I wish it was being done out of the goodness of his heart and not in order to drop criminal charges against his staff.
Back in 2009, an autograph signing was canceled at a mall in Long Island New York that Justin Bieber fans were planning on attending. Because Bieber's staff didn't help disperse the crowd and failed to send a "tweeter" message out to fans, Bieber's manager and a record executive were facing charges of child endangerment. Now the record company and management company are pleading guilty only to fire code violations.
If you ask me, to go from an over crowded mall to filming a cyberbullying PSA seems like a stretch. The two don't seem related, but I'm glad that the topic is going to be addressed by someone with such a large following. If you search for his Facebook page, he has over 31.5 MILLION likes. That's almost the population of the entire nation of Canada!
Justin Bieber has already recorded one bullying PSA for Ellen DeGeneres back in 2010. Below is the video. I hope that the cyberbullying PSA will have more to say then this one.
